PatasPatas Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PatasPatas collects, uses, shares, and protects information for shelters, rescues, veterinary rehoming programs, adopters, and visitors. This operational draft describes the current service and should be reviewed as the service changes.

1. Information we collect

We collect account information used to sign you in, such as your Google account identity, name, email address, session data, and authentication records.

When you apply for or operate a member organization account, we collect organization, authorization, contact, location, adoption-process, animal-category, pet-listing, media, verification, veterinary reference, support, and controlled-change information.

We collect service activity such as profile updates, listing updates, application status, shelter like-backs, matches, account support requests, security logs, and diagnostic information needed to operate the service.

2. How we use information

We use information to provide shelter accounts, onboarding, verification, listing management, adopter-interest workflows, matches, support, moderation, fraud prevention, platform safety, and service maintenance.

We use organization, pet, and adoption-process information to display public shelter profiles and public pet listings to visitors and adopters.

We use verification and reference information to review shelter applications, controlled changes, and eligibility to publish pets in approved animal categories.

3. Public shelter and listing content

Public shelter-profile and pet-listing content may be visible to visitors and adopters, including organization name, public location, contact details, mission, adoption policy, website or social links, pet details, and pet photos.

You are responsible for submitting accurate information and for having the rights and permissions needed to submit organization, pet, media, and reference information.

4. Adopter profile information shared with shelters

PatasPatas is a matchmaking layer, not an adoption agency. A like is a signal of interest in a specific pet, not an adoption application or commitment to adopt.

When an adopter likes one of your pets, PatasPatas may show your organization that adopter's live adopter profile and contact information for that adoption conversation.

Adopter profiles are not a browsable directory. You may use adopter information only for appropriate adoption-related review, contact, safety, and follow-up connected to your organization's pets.

When an adopter withdraws a like, PatasPatas deletes that interest record and stops that per-pet profile-sharing path inside the platform.

5. Cookies and similar technology

We use first-party cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, remember language or interface preferences, protect sessions, and operate the app.

We do not currently describe an advertising cookie program, sale of personal information, or third-party ad tracking in this policy. If that changes, we will update this policy.

6. Service providers and legal disclosures

We may share information with service providers that help us host, secure, authenticate, store, monitor, or support PatasPatas, including infrastructure and authentication providers.

We may disclose information when needed to comply with law, protect users, pets, shelters, our service, or others, investigate misuse, enforce our terms, or respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell personal information as part of the current PatasPatas service.

7. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as needed to provide PatasPatas, maintain records, support verification and safety workflows, resolve disputes, comply with legal obligations, and improve platform integrity.

Some organization, verification, listing, and safety records may need to be retained after suspension, rejection, account closure, or deletion requests where required for legal, safety, fraud-prevention, or operational reasons.

You can request support or account deletion through the app or by contacting contact@pataspatas.com.

8. Security

We use technical and organizational measures intended to protect accounts, sessions, organization records, verification data, adopter profile access, and service records. No internet service can guarantee perfect security.

You are responsible for keeping your Google account and device secure, limiting access to authorized organization users, and contacting us if you believe your PatasPatas account has been misused.

9. Children and age

PatasPatas is intended for people and organizations that can lawfully participate in adoption conversations and animal-placement activity.

If you believe a minor has submitted personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can review the account.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, law, or our practices change. The updated date will show when this policy was last revised.

Questions, support requests, privacy requests, or deletion requests can be sent to contact@pataspatas.com.
